Our principal interest is in buying businesses which can be improved with changed ownership. We bring both equity and non-equity funding sources who value the personal involvement and tangible value-added Fairfax brings to the table. By adding value to the business premise, we can improve the attractiveness of the transaction to financing sources and thereby help the seller attain the highest possible value.
Let us say a word about valuation. In today’s radically altered world, one thing remains constant: attractively priced investments get closed, and overpriced ones do not. The price we offer is the price we deliver, and thus by definition we only work with owners whose price expectations are realistic. Our credo is to consistently over-deliver and our reputations have been built on the integrity and track record of doing so on a continual basis.
